I know this is an old post, but I am going to attempt to give a clearer picture of the truth about this matter. I am not going to write the story, because I have not mentally developed or researched it enough for the concise details, but I would like to give a clearer version of the actual history. The following quote is from pages 104- 105 of "Lies My Teacher Told Me" (I can't figure out the italics)by James W. Loewen. "Native nations had engaged in conflict before Europeans came, of course. Tribes rarely fought to the finish, however. Some tribes did not want to take over the lands belonging to other nations, partly because each had its own sacred sites. For a nation to exterminate its neighbors was difficult anyway, since all enjoyed the same level of military technology. Now all this changed. European powers deliberately increased Indian warfare by playing one nation off against another. The Spanish, for example, used a divide-and-conquer strategy to defeat the Aztecs in Mexico. In Scotland and Ireland, the tribes had played tribes against one another to extend British rule. Now they did the same in North America."
I am not going to do the full analysis of this, but it is clearly evident that all people have problems, and the natives had a lot less of them before Europeans arrived. Though I would not exist on this land in this form if Europeans had not migrated to America, ultimately I think this continent would have been more peaceful, had it not been stolen.

I definitely understand. While it's an awesome idea, the time it would take to set everything up just wouldn't be worth it if there's only a couple of us participating.

I'm glad you two aren't going to spend your time on something that would likely only include 3 people (counting yourself). In all honestly, I probably wouldn't be able to contribute my full effort, as I'll be a very busy bee with summer classes. It is a dandy idea, though, and maybe we can put an earmark on this one.

I'll also invite any workshops or critiques my way. If you want any quid-pro-quo feedbacks, just email me.

Novels, I enjoyed Fight Club, The Road, and just started reading The Book of Lost Things per my sister's recommendation; if you like a good narrative voice, give this one a try.

But in the last month or so I've been on a hefty comic book binge. I can provide a list of stellar comic books, if you're inclined to try that sort of thing.

What I would most strongly recommend you avoid is something you seem to know to avoid already; Hallo thar Gov'na! Wot tick be the clock at? I need a spot o' tee!

Which wouldn't translate to those who actually speak with the accent in question.

Vocabulary is a simple way, but you run a risk of the readeer thinking YOU the writer is British.

I supposed the most direct way would be to have one character point it out in some way, either speaking or thinking about it. "That hot British Lit makes me so..." er, that's getting into my thoughts. Nevermind.

What kind of books do you like to read? My favorite book is “The Eye of the World” by Robert Jordan. It is the first book in the “Wheel of Time” series. It’s a fantasy novel (which is pretty much what i read) There’s great description throughout the book and it introduces a very interesting world. The Characters are awesome and i got attached to them pretty quickly. I think it’s great (i can be oppinionated though) you should check it out. It’s really long but give it a few chapters. I also really enjoy Star Wars novels. There are a ton of them out there (i’ve read over 100 of them) I’ve also read a lot of fantasy novels that are really good as well.
